SAM MODULES

ActiveParent
The ActiveParent module allows parents to view student information from any computer with internet access. The school or district declares which modules can be accessed and viewed. Some schools may want parents to see a student’s schedule, attendance, discipline, and grades. While another district may want parental access streamlined to attendance and grades only. Parents have accurate and current information, eliminating the need for sending information by the student. This can become a valuable communication tool. Through a standard report, schools can determine the number of times a particular user has logged into ActiveParent. After all, parental involvement is one of the major goals of the No Child Left Behind Act.

NEWS
The News module allows pertinent news information to be displayed by State, District, and the School when each user first logs into SAM. Add, edit, and update rights are issued through the security module. The news has a beginning and ending date, therefore trimming daily input and maintenance. Events can be posted for any length of time.

REPORT DESIGNER
SAM6i has ad hoc report capability through a standardized reporting engine with graphing abilities. Several predefined reports are available. A countless assortment of user-defined reports can be easily created. A sophisticated and modern appearance can be achieved by using the assortment of diagrams and graphics supplied with SAM6i. SAM6i condenses the time-consuming methods of generating the required state, national, and accreditation reports, especially for No Child Left Behind.

SECURITY
The Security Module is a key piece in SAM6i. Security rights are established in group formats based on pages within each module. View only, add, update, delete, view critical, and all access are the security levels. Since the security was built on bitwise principal, these security levels are individual not a stepping stone technique. For example, to have delete rights does not mean you have to have add rights, rights are independent from one another. Once groups are created, individual users are created. Users are then assigned to groups, allowing for a more effective security plan when dealing with a mass amount of user will many different security levels. Users associated with more than one school can be issued different security rights at the different schools.
